Asia Quake and Tsunamis Appeal
 On December 26 th 2004 the world changed after a devastating tsunami hit Asian coasts, destroying the lives and hopes of millions.
easyflowers have chosen to donate to the cause through the purchase of roses online. $1 from each rose purchased from the 26 th December to the 14 th February will go towards the Australian Red Cross Asia Quake and Tsunamis Appeal.
easyflowers have elected to support the Australian Red Cross Asia Quake and Tsunamis Appeal due to their dedication, skill and professionalism in these situations. easyflowers are assured that the Australian Red Cross will not deduct more than 10% of any donation for an international appeal to cover its own costs.
Purpose of the Australian Red Cross Asia Quake and Tsunamis Appeal
The purpose of the Appeal is:
- to fund the deployment of specialist delegates to the region to assist in the international Red Cross response
- to support the relief and rehabilitation work of our Red Cross Red Crescent partners through the global emergency appeal
- to support an Australian Red Cross program of assistance in the affected area
More specifically Red Cross is working to provide emergency assistance as well as longer-term support for the affected people in a range of areas such as:
- Shelter (tarpaulins, tents, temporary accommodation etc)
- Food and Non-food assistance (food rations, supplementary food, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, clothing etc)
- Water & Sanitation (safe water supplies, sanitation facilities in camps and elsewhere, building water storages, preventing outbreak of water-borne diseases)
- Health (first aid, treatment and recovery, prevention of outbreaks of diseases, recovery of public health care facilities, psychological support)
How easyflowersare Helping
All purchases of the following products are eligible under the donation appeal:
Donations will strictly apply to rose sales only.
Each rose included in the above products will equate to a $1 donation to the Australian Red Cross Asia Quake and Tsunamis Appeal. Therefore the donations for each product are as follows:
- one and only = $1
- ménage a trios = $3
- rouge six = $6
- summer lovers = $12
- an affair to remember = $24
- bed of roses = $36
Donations will only apply to the above
stated products and will NOT include Mystery Flowers.
easyflowers
have commenced donations from sales dating from the
26 th of December. As the 26 th of December was the
day of the tsunami easyflowers
feel it is important to back date the donations to the
day of the event to maximise the potential donations.
easyflowers have a database
system which will accurately calculate the donations
from this date. No extra fees or charges will be added
to purchases.
easyflowers acknowledge that the period up to the 14 th of February is the peak season for rose sales due to St Valentine’s Day and therefore expect a significant amount to be raised on behalf of the appeal.
Product Pricing
There is and will be no price increase of products to assist or cover the donation costs. Any price changes are due to market availability of roses during this peak season.
Moneys Raised
All monies/donations raised will be sent
to the Australian Red Cross Asia Quake and Tsunamis
Appeal in full, no later than 30 days after the 14 th
of February 2005. The donation will be made as one singular
donation of the entire amount raised through rose sales
between the period of the 26 th December to the 14 th
February.
